What's the difference between duet and duo?

Hey guys..What is the difference between duet and duo? Are they synonyms? I am confused.

Duo does not have to be connected to music. Batman is called the Dynamic Duo.

A duo is a pair of performers that are part of a single act.

A duet is a performance by a pair of singers.

Duo = singers
Duet = song
